13 Fun Ways To Exercise Your Dog In Houston, TX

  5. Play the game of fetch:

    The game of fetch is a good way for your dog to burn some calories. Get a ball or a stick, throw it and instruct your dog to retrieve it for you. As soon as they get the hang of it, you can play continuously together.

  6. Hide & Seek:

    Hide and seek is a fun game that keeps your dog moving around while using some of its natural scents tracking abilities in a mentally stimulating way. You could hide and encourage them to find you. It can also be done with treats.

  7. Play tug-of-war:

    This is a good way for your dog to burn extra energy as they tug at the toy or rope.

  8. Make them climb the stairs:

    If you have a staircase in your apartment, this is perfect. Remember to shower them with praises when they climb the stairs or get you something to keep them motivated.

  9. Take Your Dog Swimming:

    Swimming is a great way to exercise your dog especially if they have mobility issues such as arthritis.

  10. Chasing bubbles:

    Blow a couple at a time and encourage your dog to chase before it hits the ground.
